Ulloa School, surrounded by landscaping of a collaborative gardening and botany project, is located in the heart of a residential neighborhood in the outer Sunset. The school is one city block long, clean and graffiti free. Classrooms are attractive and spacious. Ulloa is fortunate to have a huge yard, a gymnasium, and a large computer lab. The linguistic needs of students are served by English Plus classes.

We are a full inclusion school for Inclusive Education students and hold the belief that every child can learn to his/her potential facilitating access to the core curriculum for all students. Other services include the Resource Specialist Program, Speech Therapist, Occupational and Physical therapists, and Ulloa's After School Learning Center partnered with Beacon Afterschool Center.

The Ulloa community of students,families,staff and friends holds the conviction that our future depends on how well we prepare each child to be educated and responsible. Guiding our academic goals is the core belief that every child needs to become and independent thinker and life long learners. The competent and creative staff has high expectations for children, making provisions for individual needs and using a variety of teaching programs, offering a rich academic program in reading/language arts, mathematics, Social Studies/Science and has the distinction of meeting every test area in the California state mandated tests. The core curriculum is supported through a variety of programs and activities, such as, a state of the art computer lab,cross age tutoring,visual and performing arts consultancies, physical education teacher,art teacher,poetry writing consultant, music teacher, Health and Nutrition Specialist, Student Success Team, Reading Specialist, Sunset Beacon After School program, paid childcare before and after school provided at Ulloa G.A.T.E.(Great Adventures Through Education) and student council programs.

Tech Company Donates to Daniel Webster Elementary School

Last month, Sifteo, a Dogpatch start up company donated 25 sets of its interactive Sifteo cubes to Daniel Webster Elementary School.  The computers are being used by first graders to help with phonemic awareness, and as part of afterschool vocabulary and spelling programs.  Sifteo is making monthly visits to the after-school program to evaluate how well the Cubes are working, and solicit student ideas about new game designs.

School Address Fraud

Much has been written about the upcoming changes to the SF school assignment system... and one of the new aspects is supposed to be better verification that the address you provide for your student is actually the address where the student lives. ABC 7 had a story last night about a bunch of cases of address fraud that have been recently found in the district, with the district only putting in a minimal amount
