A. P. Giannini has a culturally diverse student body and uses a wide variety of programs to meet student needs. All students participate in the Positive School Environment Program. Awards are given for grades, citizenship, attendance, and service. There is ESL with bilingual assistance and a GATE program. A special education program assists in a full elective program, including the schoolÕs renowned band, orchestra and choir. All departments and programs have been involved in community activities, and the Sunset Beacon Center, an afterschool/community program, offers tutoring and classes for students and adults.

Much has been written about the upcoming changes to the SF school assignment system... and one of the new aspects is supposed to be better verification that the address you provide for your student is actually the address where the student lives. SFUSD New School Assignment Plan Decided

After years of debate, lawsuits and numerous community meetings, the San Francisco Unified School District voted unanimously on a new school assignment system Tuesday night. This so-called hybrid plan is a compromise between the wishes of parents who want to attend neighborhood schools and legal demands to maintain diversity.
