Educating a child is a responsibility best shared between the home and school. The Hebrew Academy is a Jewish day school, which strives to provide an excellent academic and Jewish education. We endeavor to expose our children to an intensive appreciation of their religious and ethical responsibilities.

The creation of the State of Israel is one of the seminal events in Jewish history. Recognizing the significance of the State and its national institutions, we seek to instill in our students an attachment to the State of Israel and its people as well as a sense of responsibility for their welfare.

Our goal is to develop knowledgeable, independent, proud Jews who will contribute to their Jewish and general communities. We are guided by the Biblical injunction: "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6)

Tech Company Donates to Daniel Webster Elementary School

3-1-2012

Last month, Sifteo, a Dogpatch start up company donated 25 sets of its interactive Sifteo cubes to Daniel Webster Elementary School.  The computers are being used by first graders to help with phonemic awareness, and as part of afterschool vocabulary and spelling programs.  Sifteo is making monthly visits to the after-school program to evaluate how well the Cubes are working, and solicit student ideas about new game designs.

School Address Fraud

Much has been written about the upcoming changes to the SF school assignment system... and one of the new aspects is supposed to be better verification that the address you provide for your student is actually the address where the student lives. ABC 7 had a story last night about a bunch of cases of address fraud that have been recently found in the district, with the district only putting in a minimal amount
