Lakeshore is an alternative school with a visual and performing arts focus. Students come from every part of San Francisco, being diverse in ethnicity and socio-economic backgrounds. Parents are encouraged to become actively involved in the education of their child.

Lakeshore staff works collaboratively to ensure that each child mathematics, science and social science programs, children participate in an exciting enrichment program. On any given day you can see children participating in visual arts, drama, dance, music, poetry, technology and sensory motor activities. The school library is excellent and has a rich array of books and materials for students, teachers and parents to enjoy. All of our programs and activities are guided by the basic belief in the dignity of the child as an individual, and is the right of each to develop positive self-esteem and satisfying relationships with others.

Tech Company Donates to Daniel Webster Elementary School

Last month, Sifteo, a Dogpatch start up company donated 25 sets of its interactive Sifteo cubes to Daniel Webster Elementary School.  The computers are being used by first graders to help with phonemic awareness, and as part of afterschool vocabulary and spelling programs.  Sifteo is making monthly visits to the after-school program to evaluate how well the Cubes are working, and solicit student ideas about new game designs.

School Address Fraud

Much has been written about the upcoming changes to the SF school assignment system... and one of the new aspects is supposed to be better verification that the address you provide for your student is actually the address where the student lives.
