Located in sunny Noe Valley, James Lick Middle School provides a small, personalized, diverse and academically challenging environment. Our energetic, innovative teaching and counseling staff collaborate to provide the best for your child. Through GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) we have created a offer a Two-Way Spanish Immersion Program which integrates students who are learning Spanish as a second language with students who are maintaining their native Spanish for one core class daily. Our Gifted and Ta l e n t e d Education classes include Algebra for 8th graders and classes in humanities and math topics during academic enrichment. Students regularly use technology (hyper studio, spreadsheets, Internet, design web pages) as part of their research in our modern computer lab and library media center. All students present portfolios of their work at parent conferences and 8th graders must complete an "I-Search" project. As a balance to academics, we offer a wide range of activities through the After-School Program. These include homework center, tutoring, mentor programs, outdoor club, dance, sports, yearbook, cultural clubs, and an annual highlight Ð The Talent Show.
