George Washington, in the Richmond District, offers its students a truly comprehensive curriculum in a college preparatory academic setting. Programs in business, visual and performing arts, practical arts, and Academy of Business & Computers comprise the school?s elective excellence in a diverse student setting is a winning combination. More than 94 of our graduates go on to higher education. Each year GWHS graduates successfully compete on the UC campuses, in community college programs, in private schools such as Stanford or MIT, in CA. State Universities, in the military, or directly in business. The school's Advanced Placement (AP) program is nationally distinguished. The GWHS AP program is ranked 55th in the nation (out of 12,000 + schools). It has also been honored as a California Exemplary School.

School Address Fraud

Much has been written about the upcoming changes to the SF school assignment system... and one of the new aspects is supposed to be better verification that the address you provide for your student is actually the address where the student lives. SFUSD New School Assignment Plan Decided

After years of debate, lawsuits and numerous community meetings, the San Francisco Unified School District voted unanimously on a new school assignment system Tuesday night. This so-called hybrid plan is a compromise between the wishes of parents who want to attend neighborhood schools and legal demands to maintain diversity.
