Francis Scott Key is a Sunset District Neighborhood School between Kirkham and Lawton. Our location and easy access to public transportation make possible the many field trips we take to discover our local parks and museums to reinforce classroom lessons. Most of our 500 students live within walking distance of the school.

We provide an enriched curriculum in a positive, safe school environment that fosters academic excellence and self-confidence. Our instructional program is enhanced by a Computer Lab Program, Read-at-Home Program, Experience Corps and Americorps Volunteer Program, technology and literacy support in classrooms, Artists in Residence, Musician in Residence, Nutrition Education Project, an Instrumental Music Program and more.

Student achievement is further enriched through programs such as: Jump Rope for Heart, the Multiple Sclerosis Read-A-Thon, multicultural assemblies, the Dragon Parade, the May Cultural Dance Festival, Adventures in Music (AIM), the Friday Book Store, the School Monitor Program, and Student Council.
