Daniel Webster School has a variety of educational programs developed to educate and enrich our culturally diverse student population, including English Plus classes in Spanish and Chinese. The exchange of ideas and respect among students, faculty, administration, and parents mirror the schoolÕs philosophy and are apparent when visiting the committees are formed and meet regularly for planning and decision making to meet school goals.

Our school participates in school wide staff development which includes participation in the California Early Literacy Learning (CELL) Program for K-3; and the Extended Literacy Learning (ExLL) for grades 4-5. Work Ethic awards are presented to our students quarterly.

A unique feature at Daniel Webster is its partnership with the GAP Foundation which provides a number of resources - both human, and economic - to the classrooms and to the school. Daniel Webster continues to participate in the America Reads Project and also collaborates with San Francisco School Volunteers. Through San Francisco School Volunteers, our parents are given opportunities to learn about family literacy on the last Friday of the month and families are always welcome in the classrooms. All classrooms are equipped with IBM and Mac computers to optimize instruction in core curricular areas and students have access to the Internet. The school houses a Child Development Center which offers an after school program to our students.

School Address Fraud

Much has been written about the upcoming changes to the SF school assignment system... and one of the new aspects is supposed to be better verification that the address you provide for your student is actually the address where the student lives. ABC 7 had a story last night about a bunch of cases of address fraud that have been recently found in the district, with the district only putting in a minimal amount
