Based on a nationally recognized and award-winning model for secondary education, City Arts and Technology High School (CAT) will open with 110 ninth graders in San Francisco in September 2004. CAT is a tuition-free public, charter high school. CATÕs founders have a proven record of success; having won 3 California Golden Bell awards for helping students from a wide range of backgrounds and learning styles achieve personal and academic success.

SFUSD New School Assignment Plan Decided

After years of debate, lawsuits and numerous community meetings, the San Francisco Unified School District voted unanimously on a new school assignment system Tuesday night. This so-called hybrid plan is a compromise between the wishes of parents who want to attend neighborhood schools and legal demands to maintain diversity.
