While Bernal Heights is one of the most desired neighborhoods to purchase a single family home, it’s not known for its abundance of condo sales. 

Over the past four years (2007-2010), Bernal has averaged just over 23 condominium sales per year, 2009 being the highest annual total at 26.

Wednesday night was the opening night of the 8th annual Bernal Heights Outdoor Cinema Festival, and what a festive event it turned out to be.  The event was held at the Old Clam House on Bayshore Ave, which has been a staple of Bernal resident’s looking for good food and a lively watering hole since 1861.

Every time I’m in a home that would typically have a beautiful view if it weren’t for a mess of electrical wires and poles, I think, why the heck can’t we put those ugly cables under the ground? How come it is 2011 and we still have a mess of cables running over our head, creating potential hazards during storms, and clogging up what could otherwise be a serene street lined with street lamps and trees.
