San Francisco, CA – February 28, 2011 – Over the past several years, arts programs have been virtually eliminated or, at best, vastly reduced, in the public school arena. Zephyr agent Garrett Goldman and his partners saw the need for programs to encourage creative spirit and educational opportunities for under-served students and schools.

CELLspace in the Mission is one of San Francisco’s hidden treasures. Founded in 1996 by a group of artists and educators to develop a communal workspace for collaborative and community based arts, CELLspace has grown to include after-school youth services.

Being a dance lover, this article caught my eye. Starting today, for the next nine months, San Francisco City Hall will be presenting monthly noon-hour dance performances in the beautiful Beaux-Arts building. "The art happenings will hopefully make people think of City Hall as being more than a place you go to deal with taxes or yell at a supervisor," said Wayne Hazzard, the executive director of Dancers' Group.
