Zephyr Agent Wes Freas Delivers with Project Open Hand

San Francisco, CA – November 7, 2011 – For 20 years, Zephyr agent Wes Freas has volunteered at Project Open Hand. In his first decade of service, Freas volunteered to deliver meals. When he joined the Zephyr team 10 years ago, he discovered that Project Open Hand was an ongoing commitment among Zephyr agents, and he subsequently became the Zephyr coordinator. As the coordinator, Freas promotes the program, recruits participants, schedules the teams and ensures that it happens every week.

LGBT housing protections

Great news for the LGBT community.  HUD has announced a new policy giving protections to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people who file complaints of housing discrimination.  Although we are generally pretty liberal here in San Francisco, this policy extends throughout the entire country.  The new policy carries into rights under loan applications, and lender discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
