San Francisco, CA – September 16, 2010 – In 1954, Alfred and Mabel Salter (parents of Lucile Packard) commissioned to design a home for their family in what is now Forest Hill. Salter was a self-employed photo engraver, and Mabel kept his books for him while working as an attorney’s secretary and dabbling, rather successfully, in investments.

18 single family homes sold in Forest Hill in 2009; there were no Condo/TIC/Loft/Coop sales last year. We witnessed a shift in the single family home median sales price from $1,400,000 to $1,239,000, which translates to a 11.5% decrease over the prior year. The time necessary to sell a property is also critical. For 2009, the average number of days on market was 55 for single family homes and 48 days  in 2008.
