Underground Dining: Here to Stay or Soon to be Busted?

Unbeknownst to me, and perhaps many others, there are ‘gourmet’ restaurants in San Francisco that operate "underground," without the benefit of health department inspections or a license. The diners receive very little notice about the secret locations and the meals can cost up to $100 per person. If you’re into gourmet food, communal dining, and illicit restaurants, this may be for you. Call me persnickety, but I, for one, search out the inspection scores of the restaurants I attend!
