Celebrate the 236th birthday of the United States of America at Pier 39 on July 4th, but get there early for the best views. A sky full of snap-crackle-pop will dazzle the crowd at 9:30 p.m., but first the highly acclaimed Air Force Band will play stirring, patriotic anthems at 2:00 p.m., followed by the 80’s dance music of Tainted Love. Have lunch at one nearly thirty promenade restaurants, and be sure to ride a dolphin or a chariot on the world-famous Italian carousel, the only one in the world adorned with paintings of San Francisco landmarks, such as Alcatraz, Lombard Street, and the Golden Gate Bridge.
