Supervisor Sophie Maxwell will be asked to imagine a state-of-the-art video conferencing center as she steps into an empty classroom at International Studies Academy. The school, which serves grades 6-12 in Potrero Hill, focuses on developing students as global citizens with an awareness and knowledge of international issues. The school is asking for community support for a video-conferencing center that will allow students to communicate with their peers across the globe as part of their coursework. Maxwell is helping to garner donations from city organizations and businesses to help supply computers, desks, a web cam and interactive whiteboard to create the center.
