Already over 800 public school parents and community members have confirmed their attendance at a town hall meeting called "Funding Our Future," an event initiated by a group of PTA moms. Local and state officials will be asked to talk about what they plan to do to stave off some of the worst budget cuts to education in California history. KQED's Michael Krasny will moderate the panel, which includes Senator Mark Leno and Assembly Members Fiona Ma and Tom Ammiano, as well as local elected officials Mayor Gavin Newsom, Supervisor David Chiu and Commissioner Jane Kim. Lawmakers will be asked to offer solutions and community members will be encouraged to be part of the movement to restore adequate funding for education.
