At Zephyr, we’re not afraid to break a sweat. We take a hands-on approach to community building by volunteering time, raising funds, donating money, and digging in with hard work. Whether delivering meals each week to homebound people through Project Open Hand, helping the elderly with home repairs, walking or riding to raise money for health-related organizations, donating directly from our commissions to support our local public schools, or donating over $1 Million to various organizations in recent years, all of our agents and managers are proud to actively contribute to our community.

Funding for public schools continues to suffer in California with closures, layoffs and programs cuts happening more each year. EdMatch engages local businesses to commit to the cause of funding public education and improving education for all. Zephyr established a unique arrangement with EdMatch to donate 10% of gross commissions from any new closed transaction that results from business referred to us through their program. This can result in signifcant additional funding for our San Francisco public schools without any additional cost to our clients. Watch our video on this page to learn more. Zephyr Agent Wes Freas Delivers with Project Open Hand

San Francisco, CA – November 7, 2011 – For 20 years, Zephyr agent Wes Freas has volunteered at Project Open Hand. In his first decade of service, Freas volunteered to deliver meals. When he joined the Zephyr team 10 years ago, he discovered that Project Open Hand was an ongoing commitment among Zephyr agents, and he subsequently became the Zephyr coordinator. As the coordinator, Freas promotes the program, recruits participants, schedules the teams and ensures that it happens every week.

Zephyr Agent Pete Gallegos Serves with Maisin Scholars Program

San Francisco, CA – October 17, 2011 – Pete Gallegos, Zephyr REALTOR® at the West Portal Office, has found a way to help others through volunteering with the Maisin Scholars Program, which assists students in overcoming financial obstacles in their pursuit of higher education. Founded in 2000, the program offers 75 scholarships annually to students graduating in the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) who have financial need and the ambition to continue their education.

Zephyr Agents Participate in edMatch for San Francisco’s Public Schools

San Francisco, CA – August 22, 2011 – Seventeen of Zephyr’s top-producing agents have committed to participation in edMatch, a new independent non-profit organization for local businesses and individuals to "match" funds raised in San Francisco’s public schools. The funds are then distributed to all 113 schools on a per-student basis.

Zephyr Agents Team Up for 10th Annual AIDS/LifeCycle

San Francisco, CA (May2, 2011) – Jim Beitzel, Paul Christopher, Harry Clark, and Jan Medina are busy logging hundreds of training miles and raising thousands of dollars for the 10th Annual AIDS/LifeCycle, June 5 – 11. They and 3000 other riders will be spending seven days on their bicycles, and sleeping on the ground at night, riding from San Francisco to Los Angeles. They are all agents with Zephyr Real Estate.
