4 Bedrooms, 3.0 Bathrooms, 2 Car Side By Side Parking

Penthouse with best bay view in San Francisco. First time on the market in over 40 years, this 4BD/3BA penthouse with wraparound balcony is on the northeast corner of the Fontana East, a co-op building. High on the 18th floor (there's feeling of being on a grand ocean liner) the bay views look directly out over Aquatic Park and Alcatraz to Angel Island. The view continues toward the west and the Golden Gate Bridge and east to the Bay Bridge. The kitchen and the 3rd and 4th bedrooms on the south side have amazing city views. At night with the myriad of twinkling lights, it is breathtaking! SUPERB VANTAGE POINT TO WATCH THE AMERICA'S CUP RACE.

Neighborhood Detail

Overview

Russian Hill is so-named for the 1800s discovery of Russian tombstones, thought to be the final resting place of fur traders from a Russian fort north of San Francisco. It is home to Lombard Street, "the crookedest street in the world," and in fact has several extremely picturesque staircase streets (parts of Vallejo and Green Streets, for example). The views extend from the Bay Bridge to the Golden Gate Bridge and Marin County. Alice Marble and Ina Coolbrith parks offer a serene spot to idle and enjoy the vistas. The Art Institute on Chestnut Street houses one of several controversial Diego Rivera murals in San Francisco. The Institute is in the Spanish Colonial style and dates back to 1926. The famed "Tales of the City" series by Armistead Maupin were inspired by Macondry Lane on Russian Hill. Area residences are some of the most interesting around and many offer amazing panoramas. Russian Hill is also home to many restaurants and great shopping opportunities.

Market Trends

How's the market? Many of our competitors' websites answer this question with market statistics for the zip code you live in, confusing market areas with postal delivery. Others use arbitrary market boundaries defined by third parties not in-the-know. You may live in 94107, but in which community? Central Waterfront? Mission Bay? Potrero Hill? South of Market? South Beach? Each unique corner of San Francisco is different, even the ones that share a zip code.

The San Francisco real estate market is nuanced, and we believe your market data should be as well. We use relevant MLS areas designed and used by the San Francisco REALTOR community to generate our reports, not zip codes. We take you inside the real numbers to give you the insight you need to make informed decisions.
